Abstract:

This reflection aims to identify the economic and social consequences of underdevelopment in the Banalia Territory.
At the methodological level, the research uses the dynamist method of George Balandier supported by the technique of disengaged direct observation, the documentary technique, the free interview technique, the sampling technique and the data processing technique was carried out by content and statistical analysis.
Thus, the results of the study show that the deterioration of basic infrastructure (roads, schools and hospitals, etc.), the poor access to drinking water and energy, the poor state of housing (straw houses, etc.), the difficult access to primary health care for the local population, unemployment, the low rate of schooling as well as the weak initiative of self-care by the local population at the root of the economic and social consequences of underdevelopment in the Banalia Territory.
