Title: HISTORICAL CONTINGENCY FOR COSMOLOGY [2]-TYCHO BRACHE’S GEOCENTRIC
UNIVERSE |
Authors: Yeuncheol Jeong |
Abstract: Before the invention of the telescope, Tycho Brache developed his geocentric model of the Universe. Some of
the historical contingencies are discussed in the context of the early Scientific Revolution. Even though
considered to be the simplest and a sufficiently accurate model, Tycho’s geocentric model played very little
role in the transition from Ptolemy’s to the Copernican model. |
